As you may already know Siargao became popular for its surf and has been attracting surfers ever since. As the island has developed it now offers many opportunities for the non surfer as well. So here are some things you can do if surfing isn’t your thing.
This is still a very raw and undeveloped island, so if you’re the exploring type don’t be afraid to go and lose yourself around the island! Rent a motorbike or car (how to get around LINK) and don’t be afraid to get lost! The main roads around the island are paved and if you’re staying in General Luna you could always stop and ask a local for “GL” and they will point you in the right direction if you can’t remember how to get back. Take a food tour! With a diverse group of expats living on the island you have your choice of foods from all around the world as well as local Filipino cuisines. Check out my list of top eats on the island (LINK).
Enjoy the nightlife. Siargao can’t compare to Boracay but they do have a relaxed party scene with usually one party being hosted per night, so you will be sure to see your new friends out enjoying drinks or make some more new ones!
Enjoy the water! Whether you’re going for a dip or going on a boat there are many activities to do on the water. Check out my top list of water activities (LINK).
