With so many options and activities available on Siargao here are my top choices if you are planning to spend your day on land.
Rent a Bike and Get Lost
When I first arrived to Siargao this was my favorite thing to do. With the drive from the south of the island to the north taking about two hours long and traveling through an almost untouched interior, spending your day getting lost has never been so appealing.
This is a hybrid selection. Although there are rock pools, you don’t have to get in if you don’t want. Make sure to head there for low tide and you can walk all around the stunning reef or join the others there in taking a dip in the crystal clear water. They also serve food here if you’re hungry after the long drive but don’t expect much.
Yes, you read right, golf on Siargao. To enjoy one of the most unique golf courses you’ll see check out Villa Maya located on the back road away from the beach. A round of 9 holes will cost you around 650 PHP (US $13). There usually aren’t many people playing back there so a tee time should not be needed.
Be a Siargao beach bum
This is one of the best things to do in Siargao and Café Loca just 100 meters to the left of cloud 9 is the perfect place to do it. A great breakfast or lunch spot with good coffee, you can sit on the deck or the sand and enjoy the surf break and think about how you will extend your vacation on the island.
Catch the sunset at Tawin Tawin
You can drive an hour and a half to the other side of the island to catch the sunset, but if you’re staying in General Luna there is no need. Tawin Tawin is about a 10 minute trip to the interior. Just take the road towards Yay Lodge or where you see the sign for the yoga dojo and its just about a straight shot. Here you will have a nice view of the mangroves, ocean and the sun going down over the island.
